Social media platform Parler is up and running once more after getting kicked off Amazon servers following the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.
Despite being kicked from Amazon and ditched by Apple and Google, Parler is once again operational and available to its 20+ million users.
In a statement after their comeback, Parler lashed out at tech giants as they doubled down on their claim that their site is available to Americans of all viewpoints.
“Parler, the world’s #1 free speech social media platform with over 20 million users, is announcing its official relaunch today, built on sustainable, independent technology and not reliant on so-called ‘Big Tech’ for its operations,” the company wrote.
“Parler’s relaunch – open to Americans of all viewpoints – is available immediately.”
While the website is once again accessible, some users have been experiencing connectivity issues. Meanwhile, incoming users will have to wait until the next week before they create their accounts and join the platform.
As of this writing, the social media platform also didn’t disclose where their site is being hosted after getting shunned by major tech giants and their associates.
Along with Parler’s statement, the company’s new Interim CEO, Mark Meckler, also shared a message with netizens as he said “Parler was built to offer a social media platform that protects free speech and values privacy and civil discourse.”
“When Parler was taken offline in January by those who desire to silence tens of millions of Americans, our team came together, determined to keep our promise to our highly engaged community that we would return stronger than ever,” Meckler said.
“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back. Parler is being run by an experienced team and is here to stay. We will thrive as the premier social media platform dedicated to free speech, privacy, and civil dialogue.”
