The people of a street in Cork, Ireland, are not letting lockdown get the best in them.
They threw a huge bingo-style party even though the whole world is living in a curfew due to the situation created by the COVID-19 outbreak.
But if you are thinking that these fellas ignored social distancing, you are wrong. All the attendees of the party were bound to stay in their front lawns to make sure social distancing is observed.
The video from the party shows people did have a good time listening to loud music, drinking alcohol and eating tasty meals while maintaining a safe two meters distance from one another.
The scene was caught on camera by a resident of the street, Shannon Buckley. It showed people sitting in front of their houses as loud music played in the street.
One footage of the party showed people dancing on the song “Rhythm is a Dancer.”
All the families living on the street were seen enjoying themselves as they drank, ate, played cards and danced.
Shannon told a local news agency that all the people seen with less than two meters apart were the people of the same household and hence all the measures of social distancing were properly taken care of.
Someone called the police at one point in the party but they found no violation of safety measures or social distancing and left.
The participants said that the party gave them a good time and they’d be holding a new one in some weeks if the lockdown continues.
According to the latest stats, 4,313 people have lost their lives to coronavirus in the United Kingdom.
According to the Department of Health, a total of 183,190 people were tested for COVID-19 as of Saturday and 41,903 of them tested positive for the virus.
The National Health Service of the UK has asked people to stay at home this weekend to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Michael Gove, said on April 4 that the success against COVID-19 is only possible with the cooperation of the public.
Mr. Gove also said that seven healthcare workers have lost their lives fighting against the disease. He said: “We offer our heartfelt condolences.
“You must stay at home. Take pride in keeping your own families safe.”
