If you go out into the world often enough you’ll eventually get to see some strange sights.
But passengers at a London bus never expected to see the day when they would see a rabbit as a fellow passenger.
Not only was the rabbit calmly riding on the bus, but it was also contentedly munching on some grass the whole time as can be seen in the video below:

The amusing incident happened on the number 55 bus in Lower Clapton, Hackney, East London. One of the passengers, Suzanne Azzopardi, spotted the albino bunny soon after she boarded.
What was intriguing was that the rabbit was totally unfazed by all the strangers surrounding it. Normally, rabbits need a calm and quiet environment so that it doesn’t get stressed.
Suzanne, a Digital Consultant from London said: ”I was on the 55 bus when I saw a white rabbit, chilling out on the bus, with some grass for a tasty snack.
“I was in total disbelief and was thinking ‘can anyone else see this? Why is no one reacting?’ – I elbowed my friend who hadn’t noticed.”
The obvious explanation is that the rabbit is a pet that another passenger had brought along for the ride. But what’s even more remarkable is that the rabbit is well-behaved enough to stay in place and not panic at the unfamiliar sights around it. Then again, happily munching on a treat is one of the ways people recover from stress so it’s not too far to imagine that the same applies to rabbits, at least this one in particular.
Rabbits are popular pets and quite easy to take care of but one has to wonder how the bunny in question was trained by its owner because it’s really unusual to take a bunny around that’s not in a cage.
In any case, the unusual encounter certainly helped to relieve the drudgery of the daily commute and we can only hope that the rabbit got to its destination safe and sound!
