Sometimes, we tend to forget the importance of doing little things.
However, even if what you do may seem insignificant, it actually could be the start of something bigger.
A woman named Tracy Warshal always believed the power of an act of kindness – big or small.
That’s why she offered to pay for the groceries for a man who had forgotten to bring his wallet to the store. It was only $8, too, and Warshal was happy to help out a stranger in need.
Little did she know that this would later result in a life-changing event.
Few days later, when the big surprise came, Warshal was so amazed that she decided to write about what happened on Facebook. And it went viral!
Apparently, the man who benefitted from her kind acts wanted to do something to pay her back. He remembered that she was wearing a shirt with the Piedmont Healthcare logo.
With a little bit of research, he found out that she actually worked at the Piedmont Cancer Institute.

And this impressed him even more – Warshal was someone who was dedicating her life to help out the others!
So, the man decided to donate $10,000 to the institute in her name. She had no idea about this until representatives from the fundraising team contacted her to thank her.

Here’s an excerpt of what she wrote, recalling the event:
“I was really shocked to learn that this same gentleman later donated $10,000 to Piedmont’s foundation in my honor. I just happened to be wearing this Piedmont Cancer shirt when I met him. Working in cancer care, you are reminded that people are dealing with way bigger issues.”
She also said, “I’m just excited that one small little gesture made a huge difference and impact on a lot of people,” in an interview with ABC News. She added, “I hope it makes people think twice about doing something small to somebody.”
Thanks to Warshal and this anonymous gentleman, $10,000 donation will be used for the Dana G. Smith Cancer Assistance Endowment.
