It is such a moment of joy when parents see their newborn baby and feel the pleasure of becoming parents.
Julia found that she is going to be a mother she became very excited.
Both parents started preparations including medicines like vitamins, choosing the baby names and several other things as dreaming to hold their baby as well as selecting a nursery for him.
Julia worked as an elementary school teacher. It was going to be the second baby of Julia and Jason Clardy and they had even decided the name of the baby and that was Lawson.
There were making plans but it seems that the baby has its own plan. Three months of pregnancy went really went and then complications started after 23rd week.
So baby Lawson was born 3 months prior than the estimated day. So ideally the gestation period is 26 weeks but Lawson was a premature baby.
According to very well, these babies are said to be micro-preemies, and they are tiny as compared to regular tiny babies. Their weight is recorded to be less than a pound. These babies have a very less chance of survival.
In the case of Lawson, he was weighed as one pound and seven ounces. Doctors informed his parents that he had only a 26% chance of survival.
He was measured and was found to be exactly the same as the length of a pencil thus he was named as “pencil baby”. As he was premature so was the reason his development was not completed when he was born so he was admitted to neonatal intensive care unit for critical care.
Husband and wife were thankful to God for giving life to their baby and Julia embraced him after 14 days when he was born. Lawson had so many surgeries such as trooper and he remained on a ventilator for 14 days. After Lawson successfully completed his 100 days he reached 4 pounds and became bigger than a pencil.
Both the parents thanked God as he provided them with the world’s best happiness and their baby survived. Lawson was born on May 2 and was taken off from the ventilator on August 5.
He is still recovering and although it is not hard for a mother to leave her baby alone in hospital but Lawson has to survive and the parents seek prayers for his health and long life.
