A university in Pennsylvania is making the headlines after it warned its students against the incorrect use of pronouns or else they would have to face action.
“Action will be taken against you all if you don’t respect your fellow classmates by their respective pronouns,” the statement boldly mentioned.
Moreover, it was very surprising for so many people how the sudden order came into place because this was not something that many people saw coming, anytime soon.
The new policy was shared with both students and staff members, and that’s where it was mentioned how any individual that has knowledge of another person’s gender identity, chosen name, or pronouns must respect them for who they are. And in case they don’t, they would certainly be liable for action if a particular complaint happened to be filed regarding that individual, keeping in mind the recent policy.
“We need to understand that regardless of the intent or the impact of the situation. this university clearly recognizes that every single individual is important and if they’re impacted in a certain manner that’s harmful, complaints would be filed and subsequent action would soon be taken!
On that note, local media agencies such as Fox News took this as an opportunity to reach out to the university and question them for a clearer or better understanding of the situation.
They asked in detail about how the school actually intends to enforce this policy because it was not very clear to so many people. But on that note, the university failed to respond to any comments being made.
Critics added how they strongly felt that not too many people were on board with this sudden policy. It’s as if they are just forcing it upon others without thinking twice.
