People have started complaining about roads’ most useless yellow double lines and mocked the council for wasting time and resources to paint them on the roads.

The lines in question are double yellow lines that measure 4 feet in length and have no real purpose according to the residents.
They were first spotted in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, Britain, where the locals still aren’t sure what the lines are supposed to mean.
According to those who complained about the council wasting money, the lines have been positioned around railings and small corners where it is impossible for people to park anyway.
“Southend council must have money to burn, check out the double yellows down Bellhouse,” 35-year-old James Mendoza wrote on Twitter where he shared pictures of the failure.
“I spotted it on my way to work, these are probably the most pointless lines in the country – they measure around 4ft.
“It’s just in front of someone’s drive so it’s pretty pointless as no one’s going to even attempt parking there. I think they were done the week before last. It’s one of my routes to work and I don’t normally see any issues there with parking.”
As the man went on to argue, he previously requested the council to place lines near his home where they are really necessary. However, they never responded to his request.
“Bit of a joke because there’s corners around my way that need double yellows but the council never got back to me when I asked,” he added.
After a wave of comments intended to mock the authorities, the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council spokesperson responded by saying:
“Ensuring the safety of local pedestrians and drivers is anything but pointless, and these short yellow lines are in place to stop people parking in what is a small gap between the controlled area of the zebra crossing and the driveway.
“Photos from further back clearly show this and provide a better context for why the lines are there and have been for a number of years.”
