Hundreds of people attended Marlen Ochoa-Lopez’s funeral, the 19-year-old girl who was killed by a family of ‘womb raiders’ who took her unborn child by force after tricking her into visiting their home for free baby’s clothing.
The teen was murdered before her baby was cut out from her womb.
Her husband Yovany was photographed helping to carry her coffin as they laid her to rest at the Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Illinois.
Jesus Maldonado, the teen’s heartbroken uncle, said it felt “like it will never end” as the grieving family gathered to pay their respects.
Mourners entered the funeral home as a photo of Marlen on her wedding day was displayed in front of her coffin. Many wore shirts with a picture of the teen on as they spoke about good memories with her.
“It just started. This is all very hard. It feels like it will never end,” Maldonado told The Chicago Tribune.
A family friend said: “There are people that don’t know her, but it hurts us all. How can people be so bad?”
Prayer cards with “I can do anything with Christ’s strength,” were also distributed.
“Words can not describe the horror this poor woman went through. May her loved ones find some solace in the little boy upbringing and that he comes out of this in good health. God bless,” one person expressed.
“This is so sad. The poor mom died such a horrific death and the poor little baby may never be normal for the rest of his life. I am praying for mercy for this family and a miraculous recovery for the little one,” another wrote.
46-year-old Clarisa Figueroa, her daughter 24-year-old Desiree, and Clarisa’s boyfriend 40-year-old Piotr Bobak, are now behind bars.
