The artist, Jon Atron, became popular on the Internet for his sense of humor.
Some of his subscribers demanded to get their portraits for free. Jon got sick and tired of such requests but he came up with a brilliant idea.
We agree that all artist work to be rewarded and think you’ll appreciate his unusual approach.
Thousands of people follow him on his Instagram account but the artist started to receive many messages from people asking him to draw them for free and he ran out of patience.
The artist started to answer all of these types of requests in the same way and shared his story on Instagram. People loved Jon’s joke and he got hundreds of messages every day from people asking him to draw “a silly portrait.
” Jon received much more appreciation than he expected but it didn’t help him get rid of this problem. However, he was up for the task.
Everyone who would donate $10 or more could write to Jon and get a doodle. Subscribers liked his idea and he has managed to raise $1,543 as of today. Jon has turned irritating requests into an act of kindness.
“It can be a bit irritating,” he said. “I take it as a compliment and most people are a bit unaware of how much time can go into a piece of art. I thought a silly doodle may get this point across and hopefully make people laugh.”
“Art isn’t seen as a job/career but more of a hobby which you enjoy, so people assume you would be happy to do it for a little bit of ‘exposure.’”
“I wish I could do drawings for free,” Jon added. “It is something I have done for giveaways to my followers online or for charity. Sadly, I have to fund my expensive pencil habit.”
Look how people asked him to paint them free!
Jon started a fundraiser for Birmingham Children’s Hospital: “If you’re one of these strange people who are willing to pay for silly doodles, here’s your chance.
