Some of his subscribers demanded to get their portraits for free. Jon got sick and tired of such requests but he came up with a brilliant idea.

Thousands of people follow him on his Instagram account but the artist started to receive many messages from people asking him to draw them for free and he ran out of patience.

Everyone who would donate $10 or more could write to Jon and get a doodle. Subscribers liked his idea and he has managed to raise $1,543 as of today. Jon has turned irritating requests into an act of kindness.
“It can be a bit irritating,” he said. “I take it as a compliment and most people are a bit unaware of how much time can go into a piece of art. I thought a silly doodle may get this point across and hopefully make people laugh.”
“Art isn’t seen as a job/career but more of a hobby which you enjoy, so people assume you would be happy to do it for a little bit of ‘exposure.’”
“I wish I could do drawings for free,” Jon added. “It is something I have done for giveaways to my followers online or for charity. Sadly, I have to fund my expensive pencil habit.”
