It also criticizes the government’s benefits freeze where the number of money people can claim has not been changed since 2016 despite the inflation.

On the other hand, 51% of people say that they are struggling to meet the ends.

The 46-year old woman is constantly struggling to put food on the table post the five-week wait for cash has put her in debt.
Additionally, single mother Anderson 24, and her baby often live without any food as she cannot afford to pay the bill and put food on the table with her universal credit payment.
According to the study, one in six households in the UK alone relies on welfare payouts such as the old system. 49% of people are struggling to meet primary costs such as rent, household bills, food, etc.
Two-fifths of the families claim that they have less than Euro 100 at the end of the month once they have paid, household bills, council tax, food, mortgage, etc.
Additionally, parents and disabled people are more likely to run out of essentials 45% respectively missing out in the last 12 months.
Gillian Guy from Citizens Advice said that while the system is designed to aid people who are in need, the reality is far from it.
People are losing sleep and cannot afford basic things like food and housing while acquiring Universal Credit. The government needs to take immediate action and reduce the five-week wait for Universal Credit and end the freeze on benefit rates.
