A dog owner shocked people across the globe by getting all of his 16 dachshunds to line up in duos for a perfect pose – nattily sitting with their eyes right on the camera.
There are countless perfectly-timed shots on the internet, but capturing 16 dogs giving the same pose would probably be a dream for many photographers.
19-year-old Liam Beach used an amazing trick to get this shot after one of his friends challenged him to do it.
“My friend Catherine challenged me to try to get all of my lot sat on the stairs for a photo. She said, ‘I bet you can’t pull it off,’ so I thought ‘challenge accepted.’ She also promised me a box of chocolates if I managed it,” Liam said.
“She set me that task on Friday morning and 10 minutes later, I had the photo. It took me eight minutes in total. I timed myself,” he added.
The photo shows eight pairs of long-bodied sausage dogs, calmly sitting on the staircase, looking right into the lens of the camera.
None of the well-behaved pooches moved when Liam told them to ‘stay.’
The adorable pups are named Daisy, Ruby, Buster, Diamond, Lottie, Kizzy, Duke, Bonnie, Sammy, Wallie, Dudley, Saffie, Zac, Kiki, Ziggy, and Benjie.
Liam said he used a tennis ball to get all his dogs focused on the camera. “Just a squeaky ball works wonders,” he said.
The staggering shot got viral in no time after it was shared on social media.
“I have one and he won’t let me take a decent pic of him! Good job!” a woman praised Liam’s achievement.
“It’s amazing what the humble tennis ball can achieve…my dogs are way too hyper to sit down together,” another user wrote.
“Wow, what a brilliant picture! How on earth did you manage it?” one person exclaimed.
Liam was happy to receive praise and appreciation from across the globe.
“It’s amazing the amount of positive reactions I’ve had because sometimes people are judge-y about the amount of dogs I have,” he said.
“But I haven’t had any negative reactions to the picture at all and I’m amazed by how many people love it. It is really lovely to see.”
Liam, a graduate in animal management, is currently living in Cardiff, Wales with his parents and his crew of 16 dachshunds. He also owns a black Labrador, Jess.
Among the 16 dachshunds, Sammy who is now 8-years-old is the oldest in Liam’s squad. Kizzy was brought for Sammy’s company, and Bonnie and Ziggy were welcomed by the family a year later.
Speaking about the care and time he and his family give to dogs, Liam said: “It’s very entertaining living with all of them.”
The family also has to say goodbye to many of the dogs after they grow up, but they make sure that their pups end up in caring and loving homes.
