Peter Andre recently took it to social media to speak of the pain his wife Emily MacDonagh felt while leaving their three-year-old son Theo at the nursery on his first day at school.
The 46-year-old singer told how hard it was for his 30-year-old wife Emily to say the “first goodbye” to their youngest son.
It was also the sixth birthday of their elder child, Amelia. But the singer said that the effect of leaving Theo at school was more overwhelming for his wife than the birthday of his elder sister.
“Emily was actually OK about Mills getting another year older, but found it hard saying bye to Theo when we dropped him off for his first morning at nursery. I think it’s going to take them both a while to get used to it,” Peter wrote in his new! Magazine column.
Overly possessive mom, Emily, told that the birth of Theo in 2016 was “traumatic” for her.
There was a complication in her pregnancy, known as breech, that halts the process of the baby getting ready for birth. As a result, Theo was born three weeks premature.
Emily told OK! magazine: “I went to hospital and they tried to turn him from the outside, which was quite painful, but I didn’t want a C-section so I had to get through it.
“They tried three times [to turn him] but he kept flipping back around. I felt robbed of having a natural birth but at least he’s healthy.”
Peter confessed that he was overwhelmed with emotions when Theo was born, and he and his wife were in tears of joy to see their son in a healthy state.
He said: “Ems was besotted instantly, she was crying saying to the baby: ‘I’m so in love with you!’ I was thinking. ‘God. This has been so traumatic!’
Peter and Emily don’t post the photos of Theo and Amelia online as their mom likes to keep them off the radar, unlike Peter’s ex-wife who shows her 14-year-old Junior and 12-year-old Princess off on social media regularly.
Peter said he taught Theo Greek in 2018 when he was just two years old to make him a true bilingual. Being born to a Greek-Cypriot family, Peter himself can speak Greek fluently.
He wrote in the magazine: “Over the last couple of weeks we’ve noticed a real improvement in his speech – he can converse properly and his understanding of Greek has got better, too.
“If I hold something up and ask him what color it is in Greek, he replies in English!
“He’s so much happier now he’s able to talk more because he can tell us what he wants and there’s no frustration there. He’s a little ledge.”
