Petition To Fire Amber Heard From Aquaman 2 Has More Than 1.5 Million Signatures


The petition to kick Amber Heard off Marvel’s Aquaman franchise has over 1 million signatures.

Johnny Depp’s fans claim the Texas-born actress ‘systematically crusaded’ to ruin his career. According to the petition: “Since Heard’s divorce from Johnny Depp, she has systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood.”

Created on Change.org, the petition claimed that Heard ‘created false accounts of him being the abuser’ and demanded Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment kick Heard from the franchise.

“Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2,” it reads.

Heard, 34, and Depp, 57, started dating in 2012 and tied the knot in Los Angeles in 2015.

But in 2016, she filed for divorce and obtained a temporary restraining order against her ex-husband.

“During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me,” she claimed. “Johnny has had a long-held and widely-acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse.”

In 2018, The Sun newspaper called Depp a ‘wife beater’ for allegedly abusing Heard.

The actor sued for libel but a judge sided with the newspaper. Judge Andrew Nicol wrote: “I have found that the great majority of alleged assaults of Ms. Heard by Mr. Depp have been proved to the civil standard.”

The actor was ordered to pay $840,000 to the publisher of The Sun to cover legal fees and he was also forced to resign from the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ franchise.

Fans of Depp have since called for Heard’s termination from Aquaman 2.

The petition says that Heard was arrested in 2009 for “abusing a former domestic partner, Tasya Van Ree, demonstrating a repeated pattern of abuse by Amber Heard.”

It adds: “Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry.”
