Coronavirus is not settling down and sparing humans.
It has taken a major toll on humans around the globe but has affected the USA the most.
To save the world from this epidemic that has already killed thousands of people, Kizzmekia Corbett and a team lead by her are working round the clock to develop a vaccination for the virus.
As per the report of The New York Times says, Kizzmekia is a researcher from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
She and her team have already begun the first stage trial with the vaccination they have prepared.
Dr. Anthony Fauci says that the clinical trial of the vaccination had started in Seattle in March, and according to the same it was extremely fast.
It only took team 2 months to start the clinical trials which had taken over 20 months in 2003 for SARS vaccination.
The testing is on speed and if everything went as planned, the vaccination will be ready by the start of 2021 or by the mid of the same year.
Kizzmekia told that they are already under a lot of pressure. With the world suffering, people are banking on her team.
Some say that the drug can at least be a part of what the world is in a dire need right now. But saying it out loud is scary.
The star leader of the team started off her career at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she had a full scholarship. She had done her major in biology and sociology from the University.
In 2014, she went to the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she earned her doctorate. Then she joined NIH’s Vaccine Research Center as a postdoctoral fellow.
