Fire rainbows are not real rainbows but an illusion caused by the clouds and the degree of the sun.
When the sun is at an angle of 58 degrees that is when the illusion is created and paints the entire sky in the colors of the rainbow.
The fire rainbow looks like a horizon covering the entire sky and so we have termed it to be horizon rainbow.
This occurrence is not a very rare one but it depends on which part of the earth you are trying to find it.
In America, the occurrence is quite uncommon and can be seen in the countryside often.
But going to the middle latitude and the north of Europe, the phenomenon is not too common. It occurs in summers only and happens because of the sun and clouds’ collaboration.
With the same, if you are in Los Angeles, there is a fair chance that you will be able to see the occurrence of these rainbows for around 10 to 12 times a year.
But the same is not possible in London. There is a chance that the phenomenon only occurs once or does not occur at all in the London sky.
Photographer Cessna Kutz was at the Lake Sammamish when he saw this beautiful occurrence and did not it go for waste.
Luckily he had his camera in hand and decided to click the most stunning picture one may have ever seen of the sky.
He shared the picture on his Instagram and wrote that he was able to catch this rare occurrence and decided to take a shot.
He said that the beautiful horizontal rainbow painting the sky in colors gave him hope and happiness. He wrote that we are living in the most difficult times of the generation but it shall pass.
This is what the rainbow had made him feel and so he passed on the message to share the same hope with all of us fighting this war together.
