The world is under a crisis.
The novel coronavirus has broken out to be a pandemic and has killed thousands of humans around the world.
Humanity is left heartbroken. Families are destroyed. People have lost their loved ones and are living the most difficult days of their lives packed inside their homes.
The times are tough and all they can do now is seek comfort in each other’s presence.
But the situations are tough not just for humans but for animals too. When we lose a loved one, we find comfort with someone else and these two penguins are doing the same.
While social distancing has kept humans away from each other, animals seem to be coming together.
A photographer named Tobias Baumgaertner captured a once in a lifetime picture of two penguins who are living some of the most difficult days of their lives.
Two penguins who are both widows were seen comforting each other as they hugged and watched the skyline of Melbourne together. Animals have their hearts broken too and they grieve on their loved ones’ death for days just like humans.
He said “I had gone to this mountain where I saw the two penguins hugging and entangling their flippers. The volunteer came to me and told me that the white penguin is an old female who just lost her partner.
The case was the same with the other penguin who was a young male. Both the penguins had become friends and meet often to comfort each other.
They stand and watch the lights for hours together. I waited there for 3 days to get a shot of the two.
They are adorable but they were constantly moving. I got lucky to get this shot perfectly. I had never seen such a beautiful moment before and I am glad that I could capture it.”
