An investigation has been issued at an Ohio based nursing home where Esther Brown was left unattended and was on the verge of a possible severe outcome.
The incident reportedly took place last week in a nursing home where an 80-year-old woman from Canton was left for gasping breath and wasn’t able to lift her head. Esther was found in a dire strait situation by her family pastor and her son James Brown.
Julia Wiggins, the family pastor, found the entire incident to be disgraceful and posted the photos of Esther on her Facebook account where she mentioned that how she saw the poor woman in such a miserable condition.
Reports have confirmed that the complaint that was filed by Esther’s son, James, did begin an investigation for the poor conduct in the facility but the result hasn’t derived any conclusions. The entire matter has been ruled out to be unsubstantiated.
Wiggins visited the nursing station along with James last week. After asking about where is Esther, they were told that she had been shifted into a private room.
Both the concerned persons on their way to Esther’s room found someone who seemed to be struggling inside the room near a nurse’s station, and with each of their footstep towards the struggling person left them in utter shock when they discovered that it was none other than Esther.
Esther’s son began to spill tears as he couldn’t believe what he saw. Both James and Wiggins called for help, but no one came until 10 minutes later. It was also concluded that any further delay in medical assistance might have lead to the death of Esther.
Wiggin’s post has since gone viral and has received over 12,000 comments and close to 28,000 shares on Facebook.
The social media users were outraged and commented on what they felt about it. Many even wrote that they had experienced a similar situation in nursing homes. The users also stated that poor functioning of such nursing stations is not limited to Ohio, but is widespread all over the country.
This was not the first time when Esther’s son has experienced an inconvenience. James once rang the facility bell five times and was shocked that there weren’t enough nursing personnel to open the door.
