Piers Morgan gives his insight about Daniel Craig’s suede pink jacket that he wore to the premiere of his new James Bond film No Time To Die.
Daniel Craig, 53, is an English actor. He gained international fame playing James Bond in the eponymous film series, beginning with Casino Royale (2006), and in four more installments, through No Time to Die released in September 2021.
Piers has since criticized Daniel Craig’s outfit for the “No Time To Die” premiere in London last night. The Hollywood star rocked up to the red carpet event on Tuesday evening, wearing a pink suede blazer along with white long sleeves and a bow tie.
HITC reports that the blazer was made by Anderson & Sheppard, a bespoke tailor, and haberdashery based in Mayfair, London. But the former GMB presenter didn’t seem to like it one bit and compared his look to “an Austin Powers tribute act.”
Taking to Twitter, he posted a picture of Daniel on the red carpet to his 8million Twitter followers and wrote: “O dear O (7) dear. James Bond would never wear a garish pink suede dinner jacket.”
“You’re supposed to be a steely-eyed assassin with exemplary sartorial taste, Mr. Craig…. not an Austin Powers tribute act,” he then followed the tweet with a thumbs down emoji.
However, Piers’ former GMB co-star Alex Beresford had the opposite view, tweeting: “Aside from Daniel Craig clashing with the red carpet what are your thoughts on this statement jacket? Personally, I love pink.”
In 2018, the journalist has also criticized Daniel in a photograph where Daniel carries his daughter in a papoose.
Piers shared the picture to Twitter and captioned it with: “Oh 007.. not you as well?!!! #papoose #emasculatedBond.”
Numerous people defended Daniel, including actor Chris Evans who wrote: “You really have to be so uncertain of your own masculinity to concern yourself with how another man carries his child.”
“Any man who wastes time quantifying masculinity is terrified on the inside,” he added.
Piers responded to the claims that he’ll be stepping in to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond and he’s rather pleased with the “result”.
Taking a picture outside the Burlington Arcade in London that had a huge “007” sign outside of it, he teased that he would be the next James Bond and hit headlines within hours.
He shared an image on Instagram and captioned it with: “The name’s Morgan… Piers Morgan. #TimeToDie.”
The TV personality also shared a similar photo to Twitter. And when Bond’s supporters criticized his joke, he responded with his acting credentials.
He wrote on Twitter: “Not an actor? I’ve been in nine movies that have cumulatively grossed over $2bn”. According to IMDB, Morgan has 8 acting credits, three of which are for tv series.
No Time To Die is the 25th film in the Bond franchise and Daniel’s last outing as the super spy.
The star-studded premiere at London’s Royal Albert Hall saw the likes of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge walk the red carpet. Some of the film’s stars including Naomie Harris, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, and Rami Malek have also graced the red carpet.
Morgan Piers has also been known to come into conflict with many celebrities including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
