The Good Morning Britain host was seen championing Captain Tom’s fundraising efforts after calling to appear on his show last week.
This war hero was adept at raising at least Euro 1,000 for NHS Charities Together by walking 100 lengths of his garden in Marston Moretaine with the assistance of the zimmer frame.
Owing to Piers’ support of his appearance on the GMB and the story of him walking 100 lengths going viral, the captain so far has collected over Euro 9 million, and the number is increasing.
The show host is now championing for this war captain to be honoured with knighthood.
Before Captain Tom hit the Euro 5 million mark, the host of the Good Morning Britain show said that he had launched a campaign on the social platform- Twitter as suddenly something has occurred to him.
He continued by saying that it would be great to see Captain Tom Moore, who served the country in World War II and has raised over Euro 5 million for NHS receive a knighthood.
He said that let’s start a campaign and give something back to him.
On his Twitter handle, the host said that he would like to see the inspiring Captain Moore receive a knighthood for his service to the country during World War II and now with NHS.
The campaign has received a lot of support from his followers. A fan tweeted that some people are awarded knighthoods for doing sod all. And Captain Tom is a true inspiration for the country. From fighting the war for the country to raising money for NHS, he truly deserves a knighthood.
Another Twitter user wrote that as an Army officer, it is truly inspiring and a reflection of his generation and he completely supports Piers.
