Traveling airborne is not an extraordinary thing, especially in today’s age.
Be it an international or national tour, people now rely on this mode of transport more than railways or roadways.
And it’s incredible how pilots make their safest attempts to land passengers in their respective destinations. Yes, there are accidents that have happened in the distant and recent pasts.
But there are evident stories too, which you might have heard of (for example, pilots rescuing the passengers). But the story that should never be behind closed doors is the one of William Mahoney.

From the footage, it is evident that the brave soul who quickly and rationally made an approach to land the plane. Interestingly, the pilot landed the plane in a vertical manner. He made the right use of the padded stool to do so.
William Mahoney aircraft pilot has talked of the experience of how he controlled the landing when he saw the landing gear on the front is malfunctioned.
The incident took place on the 7th of June in 2014. Captain William Mahoney executed the vertical landing on top deck right after the gear was seen to be malfunctioned. The modified padding stool just got his savior!
A video has been on the internet where he has elucidated the experience of facing problems shortly upon taking the flight off.
What he did was incredible – he just radioed ship and then flew past the tower at around 300 ft. He hoped that they would soon access to the issue from far.
Sadly, this incident was not that simple to handle. And he had to land the plane by incorporating some improvised strategies. By supporting Harrier’s nose on a padded stool, he landed the plane.
It was not possible for him to check for the stool. However, he knew the position. He proved to be a skillful pilot by landing the plane which had malfunctioning gear.
