A little mistake at times can bring you in a lot of trouble, especially when you mistakenly call the armed forces.
Yes, an incident happened and it was scary.
A pilot who was with a trainee, explain and showing the cockpit, the pilot mistakenly pressed the hijack alarm while demonstrating it and it turned out to be a huge massacre. This sent out a wave of panic at the airport at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport.
The faulty alarm turned out to be a huge mess as the Dutch military forces rushed to the airport to deal with the situation as they warned all the passengers around the airport of the same and asked them to stay away from the flights.
As the police force rushed through the airport closing it down with guns in their hands, this terrified the passengers who kept screaming thought the scene.
But within no time Air Europa published a statement saying that it was a ‘false alarm’ as the warning button was pressed by mistake and there is no need for panic.
A newspaper has published that the buzzer was pressed accidentally while a pilot was explaining to a trainee how to take care of the situation and how does the transponder works.
It requires a code and the pilot must have entered it mistakenly.
In situations of emergency like hijack, loss of connection or any other emergency, the pilot can use the transponder by entering a code that makes it work and sends the message to the other side.
Also, the transponder is only be used when the radio in the plane is not working and the plane is up in the air and not on the land because the transponder is not supposed to be used on the ground, thus it justifies that it was just a mistake and a false alarm.
