Pit bulls have gotten an undeserved bad rap mainly because this type of breed is commonly used in dogfighting.
Despite dog fighting being illegal in the US, there are still underground events and pit bulls are one of the favorite breeds for this type of thing.

However, the American Veterinary Medical Association has come out and said that “owners of pit bull-type dogs deal with a strong breed stigma; however, controlled studies have not identified this breed group as disproportionately dangerous.”
In that sense, it’s really unfair that public perception of this breed has driven how most people react when they see and a pit bull. In fact, there was once a hilarious video in Brazil where a group of construction workers was sent scampering for safety when a friendly pit bull who had escaped from his owner’s room happily approached the workers hoping to play with them. In fact, the dog can clearly be seen wagging its tail as it approached the cowering workers.
But the truth of the matter is, any living creature will respond to whatever is given to it. If an owner treats a dog with hate and abuse then the dog will more likely develop fear, anxiety, and even aggressiveness as it tries to defend itself from anything that it sees as threatening.
However, if an owner responds with trust and love, dogs may not speak the same language as humans do but they will get the message very clearly and will most likely respond in kind. Fortunately, the fact that humans and dogs have a bond that has been shared for thousands of years, it’s clear that the majority of people still love and treat dogs like members of the family.
In this case, the adorable video shows a baby playing with the family’s pet pit bull and the dog is just calmly letting the baby have its way. The laughing infant can be seen clearly enjoying the act of just hugging the pit bull’s snout and giggles each time the pit bull snuffles the baby.
It’s a clear act of trust for the owners to let their dog cuddle with the baby and it’s obvious that they don’t pay any mind to all the reported stigma of the breed.
It’s really not about the breed because if you give love, then life will respond with love.
