A horrified plane passenger has spoken out and shared his disgust after making a shocking discovery while eating an in-flight meal on a Singapore Airlines flight.
Bradley Button was flying from Wellington to Melbourne on SQ248 flight when he found a chipped tooth inside his rice meal.
The stomach-churning moment occurred when Bradley was about to finish the last part of his rice dish. After munching on a spoonful of rice, the man bit into something hard and relatively big.
After spitting the chunk out on the food tray, Mr. Button realized that what he bit into looked like a chipped tooth.
“I threw my guts up,” Bradley told AAP. “For the rest of the flight I was not well, just the idea of having someone else’s body part in my food is not nice.”
While the unfortunate traveler was positive that he chewed on a tooth that wasn’t his, he explained that one of the flight attendants attempted to convince him that the object wasn’t a tooth.
“The flight attendant that attended to me was adamant that she needed to take it away for testing and was trying to tell me that it was a small rock, when it was without a shadow of a doubt a tooth,” Bradley added.
“Then I was given a $75 voucher that I could only use on duty free in Singapore Airlines flights.”
As Mr. Button explained, he even talked to another passenger who confirmed that the object he found in his meal indeed was a tooth.
After the incident, Singapore Airlines apologized for the inconvenience and presented Button with a $75 voucher.
In an official statement, the spokesperson for the airline said:
“We are currently investigating this incident and have sent the object for analysis. Once the results of the analysis are known, we will determine what the most appropriate course of action to take is.
“We expect all of our meals to meet a consistently high standard and we are disappointed in this discovery.”
