A family of five is raising their voice as their last resort to moving out from their overcrowded and moldy flat that’s taking a toll on everyone’s health.
Comprising of only two beds, the tiny flat is beyond imaginable for a family their size to be living in. For this reason, mother of three. Charlotte Wainwright is doing everything in her power to raise her voice and make her demands for a bigger house be met.
The tiny ground floor flat which is located in Chesterton has been home to Charlotte, her husband, their three young kids, and their pets which include a dog and a cat.point 254 |
Infested with mold all over, the family says that the dire condition has begun taking a toll on their youngest daughter’s health, who now reportedly struggles to breathe.point 149 | 1
With children whose ages range from as old as 4 to as young as one- Charlotte adds how she’s been seeing a really tough time lately.point 388 |
Just weeks ago, she was diagnosed with endometriosis.point 46 | And that means she’s still waiting for her surgery.point 95 | But during this time, she’s got other things on her mind and that includes renting out a bigger space.point 185 | 1
“I’ve tried so hard to persuade the officials at Aspire Housing to come forward and assist us in getting a bigger home but it’s all been in vain,” she explains.
“Two of my youngest children have been placed under hospital care and their situation keeps on worsening. My youngest daughter needs her own space, complete with a fixed dehumidifier. We just can’t have three kids living in one room, it’s impossible,” she explained with a heavy heart.
The officials at Aspire Housing keep on telling the mum to make use of her cleaning skills and get rid of the mold, which she confirms as something that she’s been doing.point 262 |
“It’s just making matters worse and when I ask others to come in and help me, they brush it off saying it’s just cleaning,” the heartbroken mother of 3 adds.point 152 | 1
“It has come to a point where one of the kids has been on antibiotics for nearly 12 months now and it’s just so hard for me to watch as a parent,” the mother adds, hoping for others to step in and help her out.
