A plumber confessed that he is nearly bankrupt after working for 3,000 vulnerable and elderly people for free.
James Anderson, living in Burnley, the U.K., recently went viral after his £0.00 bill for installing and buying a new boiler for a ninety-one-year-old woman surfaced online.
The fifty-two-year-old who runs Depher, a non-profit plumbing firm, said that the generous services that have helped thousands of people have put him on the verge of bankruptcy in the past.
He said that he was on the brink of it all falling out but somehow he pulled it back and continued to fight.
He exclaimed that one day he wants to make his company national and offer free plumbing services to the disabled and to those above 65 years of age nationwide.
He further revealed that getting a national helpline would be his dream come true and that he wishes to get some sort of government funding.
The invoice that made him famous read that this 91-year-old lady is battling leukemia and so, she must not be charged under any circumstances and they will be available throughout the day for 24 hours to keep her as comfortable as possible.
Upon asking about the backstory, he simply said that the lady was very lovely and deserved free services. James told that they received a call from her daughter who was petrified how her mother would survive without hot water with the weather getting colder.
After the call James decided that she will not be charged anything for the service and will be offered free heating and plumbing services for as long as she lives.
James offers most of his customers a discount of 25% in summer and spring and does not charge anything during difficult winter weather.
