A proud supporter of body positivity and plus-sized women organized a big bottom bash that was attended by over 200 women.

Houston-based Havala Hidalgo decided to hold an event where plus-sized women would be able to feel comfortable after her newsfeed was filled with parties featuring slim women.

And so, the first-ever Big Bottom Bash was born in 2018.

“I really want to inspire women through the Big Bottom Bash and show them that they can be empowered in whatever they want to do,” Havala said in an interview with Barcroft TV.

As she went on to explain, the event included everything from dancing to motivational speeches to sex workshops, whereas the theme of the party was ‘fat-positive’ sexuality.

“I had to custom order the robes because they didn’t make them large-sized, it is really frustrating,” the woman said, explaining how it took her two weeks to find someone who could make the robes.

“My sister is plus-size and I was upset by the fact that she couldn’t find anything above size 16 to buy – there is a lack of diversity in activewear sizes,” Havala added.

Besides the Big Bottom Bash, Havala is also proud of her venture called Big Bottom Behavior – a size-inclusive clothing brand.

Speaking of her bash that took place in a Hollywood house where Frank Sinatra once used to live, Havala added:

“I wanted to create a space where women are going to feel energized and renewed and take on the experience into their normal day to day lives.”

After the one-of-a-kind bash, attendees happily spoke out to Barcroft and admitted they enjoyed feeling normal at the party.

“As soon as you walk in, everyone is enjoying life – it’s a very special experience,” one woman said.

“Whether you are queer or straight, as a plus-size woman you don’t feel comfortable everywhere – I’ve never been to an event like this,” another one admitted.
