Twenty-nine-year-old Maria Sirontenko was hit on the snowboard at a venue (Roza Khutor) during the Winter Olympics 2014, as per her lawsuit.
She said she is permanently registered as disabled now.
The pole dance is suing the top ski resort in Russia claiming a pine tree fell on a piste ending her career. The twenty-nine-year-old suffered seventeen fractures when she was hit on the skateboard that belonged to her at Roza Khutor.
Due to the incident, she required three major operations which allows her to walk now, however, she is now permanently registered as disabled.
As per her legal claim, her career as an actress and a pole dancer in Novosibirsk is over.
The lawsuit is filed against the popular sea-and-snow resort, which was the venue of the Winter Olympics held in 2014.
Maria was waiting in a queue at a ski lift during the incident where a 70 feet pine tree trapped her after falling on her.
A video depicts skiers trying to lift the pine tree from her desperately. A dozen people failed to remove it and Maria was freed only after the rescuers employed chainsaws to cut the tree’s trunk.
Maria suffered multiple hip fractures, head injuries, and 5 broken vertebrae in her spinal cord. She had also broken shoulder and rib bones.
She previously worked as the eyelash extension artist prior to the accident and has gained nearly 2 pounds since the tree falling incident.
Olga Pedriko, the state prosecutor said that she wanted £60,000 medical fees beyond the money already paid to her by the resort of the incident that took place in 2018.
Rosa Khutor’s spokesperson revealed that after the mishap, the resort has paid for the injured ex-pole dancer’s rehabilitation period as well as medical treatment.
