The celebrated UK’s most revered top pole dancer has died due to yet unreported reasons at the bright young age of 27 after making several posts on social media accounts about the lockdown being ‘so hard’.
Jess Leane Norris from Bolton in Lancashire has won several national championships to boot. Her death and autopsy is yet to be reported from the relevant authorities. She has been always interested in mental health issues and raising awareness for those who suffer from it.
In April her Facebook post read that she was taking the lockdown ‘so so hard’ and that a lot of us are feeling ‘stressed, lost and lonely’.
In entirety, it read: ‘I myself am finding this so so hard…it always takes me time to adapt to ‘change’ mentally as I’m one to need structure to cope with mind! ‘A lot of us are all feeling stressed, lost & lonely… but please don’t feel alone… We’re all in this together.
’
Ms Norris also has a separate ‘health and wellness’ Facebook page called ‘You Matter’ where she kept the awareness awake for mental health while holding several charity events along the way.
She was a phenomenal worker and a diligent dancer in the industry, starting with founding her own pole dancing studio at the age of 15, getting her title of Miss Pole Dance UK in 2011 and getting the title consecutively in 2015.
Many are mourning the loss and also avowing to keep her legacy intact in the goodness that she was so keen to pursue during those days of fervent dancing.
Kay Penney, the founder of Miss Pole Dance UK, described Miss Norris in a post shared on the competition’s Facebook page as a ‘national treasure’.She said: ‘Thank you for your contribution and as a true ambassador for the aerial arts, touching so many lives, hearts and souls, lifting many of us with your entertaining, unforgettable and mesmerising routines.
Thank you for your unquestionable dedication and sharing your talent through many classes, masterclasses, camps, events and competitions.
You shone like a beacon of hope on so many stages and your legacy will live on forever in the history of pole and personally as my pole daughter, who constantly showed your gratitude over the years and during your reign as double female singles champion.’
