Isn’t it surprising that now you can be fined tickets for not washing your cars? There is a new regulation in the NSW Roads and Maritime Services which is that every car should have a clean and clear number plates so that it is visible clearly or the driver will receive a ticket up to $450.
Under the clause 25 of the regulation, a person has to keep the license plate clean because if it is not clean the driver will not only get a fine but will also face some other problems like their three demerits points will get removed for a dirty plate.
The same rule is applicable for the motorists as even they are eligible to face the fine of up to $450 and lose their demerits points too.
If the number plates of the cars are not clean enough then the numbers on it are hardly visible which makes it difficult to read them. So, to be clear and straight it has now become a strict rule for people to keep their number plates clean.
The social media users are not happy with the new law by the NSW and have been criticizing them on the Facebook post. Though the penalties and the rules are different in every state and people are not following it.
One of the Facebook users who is known as Lizzie Maree West commented on the post saying that there are restrictions for using water too and it is impossible to wash the cars on level 6 water restrictions. Lizzie also claimed that nowadays it has become normal to being fined for everything.
There were different views of people about this law, and some were in favor of it while others are arguing against it. One of the supporters who is known as Nathan Stansbie said that It is perfect and I agree with the fine.
Every area has a different penalty amount whereas in Australia the penalty amount is higher than other states.
The people who keep their number plates dirty in Australia can be fined around $474 with more fine of $60 for Victim’s levy according to the clause. The Victims levy penalty cost covers the support which is their sought for the victims.
Surprisingly in Western Australia, the penalty is only up to $100, and The state has the lowest penalty rate as compared with the Northern Territory. The states penalty rate is just around $70 for the Number plates which are not displayed properly on the cars.
