Police Discovered A Newborn Baby In A Plastic Bag In The Woods


A newborn baby girl was found alive inside a plastic bag in the woods.

On June 6, 2019,  the footage was released by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office in which a man can be seen sitting down in the grass next to the infant and told emergency responders that heard the voice of the baby crying from his home.

“My kids said, ‘That’s a baby,’ and I said ‘That’s an animal,” the man says in the video.

The man explained that he later came out to check and informed the authorities. Police then reached the location and discovered the baby crying under the bag, covered in blood with the umbilical cord still attached.

They ripped the bag to uncover the crying baby.

“Look at you sweetheart. I’m so sorry,” an officer says.

Before sending the baby to a nearby hospital, police tightly wrapped the newborn in a number of blankets.

It is still not discovered who is her mother, investigators gave the baby the name of ‘India.’

The sheriff’s office said in a statement it “is continuing to aggressively investigate and to follow leads regarding Baby India. As of today, we are still receiving tips from across the country on the possible identity of ‘Baby India.’

Police explained the decision of releasing the footage: “in hopes to receive credible information on the identity of Baby India and to show how important it is to find closure in this case”, the CNN reported.

“We are happy to report that Baby India is thriving and is in the care of the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services,” they added.
