The police are on the hunt for the New York man who had ambushed and robbed an elderly lady before fleeing the scene.
The incident took place just outside Renwick Gardens Apartments, a housing apartment for low-income seniors located at 332 E 29 St in New York.
As seen in the surveillance footage, the suspect approached the 64-year-old woman from behind before placing her in a chokehold and tackling her to the ground.
After the senior collapsed to the ground, the suspect stole her purse before casually walking away while observing his surroundings.
According to the New York Daily News, the senior was treated for minor injuries following the attack. The suspect allegedly managed to steal her cellphone and the cash that she was carrying in her purse.
Just days ago, the police have released another footage and asked for help in identifying the New York City man who punched an elderly woman in a random attack in broad daylight.
The incident took place on a sidewalk in Bushwick, Brooklyn, where a man with a dark complexion was caught on surveillance camera walking towards a 78-year-old lady.
As the suspect was next to the woman, he had fully extended his arm and punched her in the head before turning around and waving his hands as if he was innocent or didn’t know what’s going on.
While the woman was clutching her head, the suspect appeared to be talking to her and acting as if he’s trying to get to the bottom of the incident.
According to the reports, the suspect later ran away whereas the victim refused medical help despite admitting she was experiencing pain.
