“God help those who help themselves” the quote is heard by everyone, but not everyone has witnessed something like this.
Tony Carlson, an officer of Tallahassee Police Department one day saw a homeless man struggling to shave when he pulled in to get his fuel filled.
The homeless man came up to Tony to ask for his help. He wanted to shave, but there was something wrong with the razor he was carrying. So he came up to Tony to ask him if he can fix his razor.
Tony checked the razor and noticed that it was missing a screw. Of course, both of the men did not have a screw with them. So Tony just tightened all the other screw so that it gets better to hold it in place. He screwed them all tight and gave it back to the homeless man whose name was Phil.
Tony then realized that Phil might not have a mirror to look into while shaving, so he got down of the car and shaved him. While Tony was shaving Phil, Phil told him that McDonald’s promised to give him a job if he shows up on Monday with a clean shave.
Tony was touched to see a homeless man willing to help himself.
Tony was not aware of the fact that someone is recording him. Soon the video went viral.
Carlson told WFMZ news that police officers all around the world keep doing such things for people, but everything does not get viral. His motive in life as a police officer is to think of police first as peacemaking officers and later officers for enforcement of the law.
However, we don’t know it yet if Phil got his job at MacDonald’s or not.
