From Solomon words in the Ecclesiastes biblical book, it is evident that ending something is better than beginning it.
Moreover, the patient in spirit is even better than someone proud in the same spirit. This goes exactly in true blue ways when it comes to giving closure to one’s career.
Someone spending three to four decades in an industry or field builds his or her own share of reputation by working day and night. And this, itself, is not something small to consider.
Hanging up the proverbial hat isn’t something easy, and when it happens it definitely becomes a poignant moment. This story talks about a retired police officer and how his retirement directly brought an impact.
Sarasota department of Police Officer, Andre Jenkins showed the importance of April 28, 2018. Sources claim that Jenkins also offered the last and final 10-7 ‘out of service’ and capped the 30 years of his career.
Right before uttering his legendary wordsJenkins showed how overwhelmed he has been. He shook his head and fought back tears to express his moments.
He finally thanked his SPD family who supported him for the last 30 years of his career. And he also thanked them to make his retiring day even more special. According to sources Justin Garrett, the Police Lt., made the announcement of the retirement to his only daughter named as Haley Garrett (also his dispatcher).
The officer asked his daughter to be careful and not to forget who she actually is. Haley Garrett also fought her tears back during her dad’s retirement. However, she managed to give a tribute to her dad and make him proud.
She also thanked the department of Chattanooga police for his 25 years of service. Later on, she expressed how she idolized her dad. She said that her dad has not only been a mentor but also a great friend. The hard work that his dad has delivered will always be remarkable.
The department of Chattanooga Police also commented on the retirement. They shared that they are obliged with the work that he has delivered with hard work and dedication.
Austin Garrett was sworn right upon his retirement as the office chief deputy of Hamilton County Sheriff on 11th of February with his family.
