A photo has gone viral from North Carolina and it is melting hearts.
In the picture, a policeman can be seen sharing a pizza and sodas for lunch with a homeless woman and the picture has touched too many hearts on Social media.
Officer Michael Rivers, 29, who is on duty with the Goldsboro Police Department, was going around the area in his car when he stopped.
He saw this homeless woman and looked at her. The two instantly had eye contact and said hi. Rivers then drove away but could not take the woman out of his head.
He was familiar with the area and knew all the homeless people in the area. What was making him wonder was that he had never seen the woman before. He could not resist himself and went back to talk to her.
When he saw her again, he asked her if she has eaten anything today, to which she said no. He then went and bought a pepperoni pizza and a cheese pizza with two sodas. They sat and ate the pizzas then.
He said that they talked for about 45 minutes and learned her name was Michelle. She had told him that she is married to her husband on the other side of the street.
She also told him that she has two kids, a 23 years old son and a 12 years old daughter who has a liver infection and is in foster care.
When the two were enjoying their meal, Cassie Lea Parker, a local woman of the area was passing with her boyfriend Chris Barnes.
The two saw Rivers and Michelle sharing a meal and clicked their picture that they later shared on Facebook appreciating Rivers’ good work. He also wrote how it often goes unnoticed how hard law enforcement officers work.
Police Chief Michael West had also noticed the great work and applauded for Rivers.
