It may not look like it but even the people who have the most glamorous posts on social media are dealing with their own issues and insecurities.
And everyone has their own way of processing these. Some people take up certain hobbies and there are those who embark on a more destructive path and do drugs and/or booze.
For Post Malone, facial tattoos were his form of dealing with his own insecurities about his looks. In an interview with GQ, where he’s on the front cover of the publication’s Spring/Summer issue, the 24-year-old rapper from New York described himself as an “ugly-*ss motherf***er” and turned to facial tattoos to deal with it.
He explained: “I’m an ugly-*ss motherf***er.point 172 | It does maybe come from a place of insecurity, to where I don’t like how I look, so I’m going to put something cool on there so I can look at myself and say, ‘You look cool, kid,’ and have a modicum of self-confidence when it comes to my appearance.point 396 |

Post Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, is notable for his facial tattoos of which he has several across his face. The words “always” and “tired” are inked under his eyes while the one above his right eyebrow reads “stay away.”
His most recent one is that of a saw covered in blood placed on his left cheek. Ruben Reza, of Junction City Tattoo where Post had the tattoo inked, posted a picture of it on Instagram.
The rapper got another tattoo just before the New Year in the form of a hand holding a ball-and-chain type of weapon.
As far back as 2018, Post Malone had already opened up about his feelings of insecurity, chatting with Tim Westwood TV about why he had a predilection to getting facial tattoos.
He explained: “It’s alright, I got a face for radio anyways, so I figured, why not? Anything to p**s my mom off.”
