Preemie Baby Looked After By The Same Nurse Who Took Care Of His Dad Decades Earlier

A nurse who cared for a man when he was a baby has discovered she had also been taking care of his son decades later.

David Caldwell, 33, and Renata Freydin, 34, were over the moon when their baby son Zayne was born. Due to being a preemie, however, he was forced to stay at the neonatal intensive care unit to recover.

While their son was being taken care of, the parents went through David’s old photos and came across a picture of him as a baby being held by a nurse that looked remarkably similar to the one looking after Zayne.

Since over three decades have passed since he was born, David initially refused to believe his partner that he and his son were being looked after by the same nurse.

After doing some digging, however, the couple was able to confirm Renata’s theory much to everyone’s amusement.

“I came across a picture of him as a baby and a lady holding him. I knew that lady!! I immediately asked him who she was and he confirmed that she was the nurse who took care of him during his stay in the NICU and his mom loved her so much that she needed a photo of the two of them on the day he was discharged!” Renate wrote in her Facebook post.

“Well, the reason I know her is because I swore she was the nurse that had been taking care of our baby boy for the past three days! David didn’t believe me.

“We brought the picture to the hospital where 3 other nurses confirmed it was her! Yesterday she was back at work and taking care of our little nugget again so we had to recreate the picture!”

As it turned out, the kind and hardworking nurse in question is 61-year-old Lissa who has been working at the NICU at New Jersey’s St. Peter’s University Hospital for decades.

“I love NICU nursing. It is definitely a passion. I love my babies and the impact we as NICU nurses have on our families, we become their family too,” she said in an interview with LADbible.
