Mariesa and Chris live a happy but crazy life.
With a host of adopted dogs under their wing, there are a lot of things going on every minute!
Their amazing story started when they visited an animal shelter hoping to take another dog who had been neglected, abandoned or injured.
During their visit, they saw a pregnant pitbull named Storie. The two quickly fell in love with the pooch and decided to adopt her.
Storie’s stomach was so big and swollen that it looked like she could deliver her pups any moment. However, something was stopped her.
When the vet checked the dog, they discovered that Storie had 12 puppies inside her belly! And she didn’t want to give birth in a stressful place.
“Dogs having puppies at shelters, it’s not the best thing for them. It’s stressful for her, stressful for the puppies,” Chris said.
At first, Chris and Mariesa wanted to wait for Storie to give birth at the shelter. But they soon realized that the place was preventing her from delivering her puppies as she didn’t feel comfortable and safe.
That’s when the couple decided to take care of the pregnant pooch and give her a comfortable place to stay in their home where she could deliver, feed and raise her pups without any hesitations.
Mariesa and Chris arranged a comfortable bed at home. They thought that it would take Storie some time to get used to the place, but that night, something amazing happened.
Only a few hours after the momma dog had left the shelter, she already went into labor.
She gave birth to 12 adorable puppies 18 hours after she had arrived at her new home!
It turned out that Storie only needed a comfortable and loving environment to deliver her 12 puppies.
The organization of Pubbles and More Animal Rescue helped the 12 puppies find new forever homes!
