Dogs have gifted natural powers, which enables them to accomplish things that human beings can’t even think of doing.
The best part is that dogs use these powers to help human beings and there are countless events in which they have proven their loyalty to their masters. Dogs can smell the inside of a human body, which means that they know when their owners are sick. This empowers them to keep a better check on the health of their owners. From a minor sickness to cancer, they can smell it all.
This is what happened recently with a pregnant woman. The incredible sixth sense of her dog saved her life. The dog obsessively followed her owner around the house, worried about her owner’s health, after she smelled something cooking inside of her. Her owner realized that nothing could put this dog to calm down and you will never be able to guess what she uncovered when she took the dog’s unrest seriously.
Keola is this name of this amazing dog who happens to live with her lucky owners, Ricky and Alhanna Butler, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Both of them take good care of Keola as she is like family to them. At the time of this event, the family was going through a critical phase as Alhanna was pregnant, so everyone was on their toes in taking care of Alhanna. Koela was also excited about the new arrival, but she wasn’t able to clear her mind off the feeling that something was wrong.
Like every pregnant lady, Alhanna was also very cautious about her health and took every detail seriously. So when she noticed a pain in her lower back, she went straight to the doctor to have it checked. The doctor assured Alhanna that these backaches were part of the process and there was nothing to worry about. Relieved to hear that everything was on track she returned home to take rest as advised by the doctor.
Alhanna may have believed that this was part and parcel of having a baby, but Keola knew better. Keola knew her sixth sense wouldn’t mislead her and that’s why she kept pushing Alhanna to take notice of her by behaving weirdly.
“When the doctors sent me home and said there was nothing seriously wrong, she just sat staring at me so intently that it really scared me,” Alhanna explained to Mercury Press. “I posted a picture of her doing this on Facebook and make the joke about the film Hatchi where the dog also does this, and suddenly my friends all started saying I should take it seriously.”
When acting weird didn’t help, Keola became more and nosier. Both Ricky and Alhanna knew that there had to be some reason behind this odd behavior of Keola, but they had no clue of what it could be.
“No one really understood how ill I was – but Keola did. She would nudge me and cry, and I could never figure out why she had suddenly started doing this. Ricky said she was distraught whenever I went to work, when she had never minded before.”
Fortunately, this compelled Alhanna to take action as she knew Keola to be a smart dog.
Finally, she decided to get herself checked again. Opposed to her expectations, she was treated in a totally opposite manner this time. She was immediately rushed to the intensive care. What the reports revealed came as a surprise to everyone.
Where the other doctor had declared her backaches to be normal, these doctors shared that Alhanna was brought to the hospitals moments away from her death. It turns out that Alhanna had a double kidney infection and that was also the reason behind her backaches. Moreover, it was a rare type of infection which can only be cured if detected in the early stage. Luckily, due to Keola’s sixth sense and sharp wit Alhanna barely made it in time to receive care.
“Because it was untreated for so long, it was one of the worst cases they had ever seen,” Alhanna shared this horrific experience on Facebook. “On top of that, I had an antibiotic-resistant bug that had only ever affected one other person in the U.K. It was killing me and the doctors told me that if I had left it any longer, I would have died and more than likely my son also.”
Days later Alhanna gave birth to a healthy boy named Lincoln, and the family couldn’t be more grateful to Keola for her role in this safe delivery.
Once again a faithful dog saved the life of her master and proved how full of love a dog’s heart is. It also shows that there is always a strong reason behind a dogs nagging, so it’s best to listen!
