BBC Presenter Receives Bizarre Call From Taliban While Live On-Air & Here’s What They Said


It was a startling and bizarre moment for one renowned reporter of the BBC when she received an unexpected call from the spokesperson of the Taliban as she conducted a live on-air coverage.

Clearly, this was something that the Australian reporter was not prepared for while as she was delivering her usual news segment coverage live.

The presenter who hails from Australia was identified as Yalda Hakim who says that it was a startling moment for her as it was definitely not planned.

Raised in Australia, Hakim added how she herself fled from Afghanistan as a young child and went to Australia. While the reporter kept her poise throughout the interview, many viewers just couldn’t believe what they were hearing.

Hakim drew great praise from experts around the globe who mentioned that she managed to grill the Taliban spokesperson when he requested to be taken on air. Asking the leader about their respective plans during her bizarre interview, there was plenty to note as the words of the spokesperson were definitely not in line.

Hakim pursued her education in the Western part of the world where completed her degree in the world of journalism, right after fleeing her native homeland as a young child.

The call was reportedly made by the Taliban spokesperson whose name is Suhail Shaheen on Hakim’s cellphone. Morover, after noticing what was taking place, the reporter opted to quickly place her cell phone near a guest microphone, just so her viewers watching live could also hear and understand what was going on.

The spokesperson claimed victory, adding how their goal of reclaiming the war-torn nation’s capital of Kabul had been established, despite being 20 years in exile.

Shaheen briefly mentioned how there should not be any form of confusion taking place. He also added how the citizens of the nation were safe and so were their properties. Simultaneously, he concluded how the Taliban was simply moving towards a peaceful power transfer towards the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.’
