A priest has been banned from his church after his love for guns, drugs, and sex has surfaced.
Father Guadalupe Rios was a beloved priest at a church in Selma, California, before details surrounding his private life have been exposed.
After the priest’s involvement in sexual relationships, gangs, and drug abuse came to light, Rios was banned from getting within one hundred yards of St Joseph’s Church via a restraining order requested by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fresno and approved by a judge.
The restraining order follows shortly after the priest was spotted wielding firearms including an AK-47 and a .357 Magnum in social media posts, ABC 30 reported.
On top of his affiliations to gangs, Father Rios has also been accused of having a sexual relationship with the church secretary whom he had allegedly been physically and mentally abusing for several years.
According to the secretary, the priest would often smoke marijuana, drink alcohol, and end up feeling suicidal. At one point, he allegedly also threatened her with a gun.
“Mr Rios and I were in his Rectory when he put a gun to his head in front of me. As I started to cry in shock, I asked him what he was doing and he said to me, ‘either I’m going to die or you are or we both are’,” she claimed.
“Due to his past as a gang member and the gangster friends he hangs out with, I’m afraid for my safety and for my family.”
Following the priest’s ousting, the authorities have seized the firearms Rios kept at the church. According to the reports, Rios was previously, in 2016, found guilty of driving under the influence whereas his blood alcohol content was double the legal limit for driving.
