According to the reports, the priests began their rituals after the plane ascended to 800 feet high. That’s when they initiated their prayer service and poured gallons of holy water through the side door.

Onboard along with the clergymen there was also a married couple who claimed that the husband got healed of alcoholism through prayers.

“Any disease is from a virus, and a virus is a demon. Therefore, any disease is primarily a spiritual disease,” Father Alexander Goryachev added.

As the priest explained, the holy water was poured over the city directly from a chalice to ensure maximum efficiency.

“This stops the spray from being blown back into the plane,” he said.

While the unusual act caused ridicule from the local community, Father Goryachev didn’t go easy on non-believers saying:

“What is the joke? That we’re trying to help people get rid of diseases? We promote stopping alcohol consumption, drugs and fornication – is this laughable? Let them laugh and we will do our job.”
