Prince Charles hosted a video call about the Platinum Jubilee with only one photo of him with The Queen, Prince William, and Prince George in the backdrop.
The Future King launched a campaign to plant millions of trees in celebration of his mother’s Platinum Jubilee next year.
This comes after Prince Harry’s criticism of his upbringing during his latest interview with Dax Shepard.
Prince Harry told Shepard that life as a member of a royal family was “a mix of The Truman Show and being in a zoo.”
Harry also said he was committed to protecting his family by staying away from the ‘pain and suffering’ he had endured.
“I don’t think we should be pointing the finger or blaming anybody, but certainly when it comes to parenting, if I’ve experienced some form of pain or suffering because of the pain or suffering that perhaps my father or my parents had suffered,” he said.
“I’m going to make sure I break that cycle so that I don’t pass it on, basically.”
Palace expert Angela Levin said he felt Harry was selfish for his remarks as the Queen and other members of the royal family are still grieving following Prince Philip’s death.
“This lack of understanding of anyone else’s position, for Prince Charles, who as we saw when the funeral took place, he was absolutely devastated to lose his father,” she told Good Morning Britain.
“And the Queen, at 95, bravely went to open Parliament again but you could tell she wasn’t the same Queen.
“She’s desperately upset, she adores Harry. And Prince Charles has done his best. So, it is unspeakably, ruthlessly cruel.”
Another royal expert, Nicholl, said: “I think the problem with the podcast and the things Harry has said — particularly about the institution, feeling like he was in The Truman Show, feeling like he was in a zoo — it has echoes of what he said on Oprah, that he, and his brother, and his father feel trapped by the institution.
“It may be how Harry feels, but I don’t think it’s how William and Charles feel.”
In the trailer of a new Apple TV documentary about mental health, the Duke of Sussex hinted he was prepared to reveal everything and pour his heart out again about his mother Princess Diana’s death and his relationship with his father.
A royal insider told The Mirror: “There is concern given the Duke and Duchess’s recent claims as to just what they may have said to Winfrey. They have not held back in their allegations and there is nothing to suggest they won’t make further ones.”
