Prince Harry’s ‘Lies’ About His Father Prince Charles Cast Doubts Over Couple’s Other Claims, Royal Expert Says

Prince Harry told Winfrey that he was ‘literally cut off’ when he moved to the US with Meghan last year.

But a spokesperson for a senior Clarence House said that the couple received a ‘substantial’ amount of money when they stepped down from their royal duties.

Phil Dampier, a royal author, thinks that people are now questioning the accuracy of everything the couple said during the explosive interview.

The Duke of Sussex claimed that they were left to fend for themselves before they struck multimillion-dollar deals with Spotify and Netflix.

Dampier feels Harry has left himself open to suspicion about other claims they made.

Speaking to The Sun Online, he said: “Harry’s people are claiming his statement about being cut off financially is not contradicted by the annual royal report because it refers to the first quarter of the financial year.

“But perception is everything and the impression he gave in the Oprah interview was that he had been cut off by his father – I’m afraid you can add it to a long list of things said in the Oprah interview which weren’t true.”

The couple also claimed that they had a wedding ceremony days before their royal wedding but it was ‘totally false.’

“It makes you wonder whether anything they said about racism in the royal family, or the fact that Meghan couldn’t get help with her mental health were true either,” the author added.

Clarence House accounts covering the year 2020 reveal Prince Charles supported both Harry and William and their wives to the amount of £4.5m.

It is not clear how much went to Harry and Meghan but a senior spokesperson for Clarence House said it was ‘substantial.’

“That funding ceased in the summer of last year. The couple are now financially independent,” he added.
