Prince William and Harry have released their tributes to the public upon Prince Philip’s death.
In Prince William’s, he recalls that Prince Philip has given a “lifetime of service to the Queen, country, and Commonwealth,” but in contrast, Prince Harry goes for the bolder move by saying that “He was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ’til the end’,”
After the Duke of Edinburgh’s passing, The Duke of Sussex spoke out to the public about landing back home without his wife by his side. The general public is speculating that this may be a chance for the brothers to fix their torn relationship, but it still remains strained.
Although the brothers are not on good terms, they both have memorials to be contributed to Prince Philip, releasing them both through different sources such as the Buckingham Palace and the Archewell charity.
In Prince Harry’s tribute, he states that Prince Philip “could hold the attention of any room due to his charm-and also because you never knew what he might say next.
He has been a rock for Her Majesty The Queen with unparalleled devotion… I know that right now he would say to all of us, beer in hand, “Oh do get on with it!”
It has also been revealed that Harry is most likely not going to be wearing an Army uniform since his military roles have been stripped by the Queen.
With Prince Harry’s statement released, the speculation of his attitude is what people would call a “cheeky prince persona” caused by Meghan Markle’s “woke” ways after the two eloped. Prince Harry is currently staying at Frogmore Cottage, the estate which had been his former home back in his country before moving to the United States.
In contrast to Prince Harry’s “cheeky” message, Prince William’s memorial is more sentimental and somber, saying that he will miss his “extraordinary grandfather whose 99-year life was ‘defined by service,’
He also adds a picture that has not been released, it contains Prince Philip and Prince George, the two-year-old grandchild birthed by Prince William and his wife, Kate.
The Sussexes were criticized for posting their tributes on their website, and Harry began to add more of his cheekiness in his tribut to Prince Philip. He comments, “So, on that note, Grandpa, thank you for your serve…. You will be sorely missed, but always remembered-by the nation and the world,”
He finishes it off with Latin words that are an allusion to the Royal Marines motto and song, translating into “By Sea, By Land,”
Prince William’s reaction to Harry and Meghan Markle’s controversy has left him deeply upset, but people are still hoping for their grand reunion.
The funeral service will be held on April 17th, including a national minute of silence to be observed. There is an expected amount of 30 guests in total due to COVID-19 restrictions.
