Prince William had a visit with the survivors of the Christchurch mosque shooting where he reflected about the loss of his mother Diana and said that such incidents reveal the depths you did know you had on the first place.
Prince William on the second day of his trip to New Zealand gave an emotional speech to the people he visited. The Prince also went to the Al Noon Mosque where the attack happened on 15 March which took 42 lives.
He said that when he lost his mother in 1997, he realized the sudden pain in his life and somewhere the pain changes the way you look at things though you don’t forget the shock it changes who you are in every way possible.
Though the Duke of Cambridge has never spoken about his mother openly this time, he revealed how much the loss has an impact on him while he was just 15 years old.
The same way he says that the attack showed how the nation’s had shown the ways for compassion, love, and warmth. His speech was very inspiring as he tried to motivate people to unite and respond with passion towards such attacks and people.
He believes that it is time to support and stand for the survivors and look for the positive around the situation.
The Prince also appreciated Ms. Adern’s response towards those who were affected by the attack. There were lots of people to show tribute on the mosque’s gate with flowers and heavily armed police guarded the crowd.
Farid Ahmed also spoke before William as he lost his wife during the mosque attack.
The prince met and shook hands with the people from the Muslim community and spoke to a little boy who was wearing a poppy. Then he left the mosque while waving back to the people after this inspiring speech.
