Another royal wedding is on the way! This time, it is Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s turn to exchange vows.
The Queen’s 31-year-old granddaughter announced her engagement in a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Thursday.
The statement read: “The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Beatrice to Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.”
The palace said that Mozzi proposed to Beatrice during their trip to Italy. The two lovebirds went to Italy ahead of their friend Misha Nonoo’s wedding, which was also attended by Princess Harry, Meghan Markle, and Princess Eugenie.
The couple’s Royal wedding is set to take place next year.
“We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married,” Beatrice and Edoardo said in a statement.
“We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”
They released three photos taken by Princess Eugenie.
The bride-to-be’s sister, who got married last October, also shared her excitement on Instagram: “Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be. (photo taken) by me!!”
Her parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, said: “We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride. We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and a loyal young man. We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.”
In another post on Instagram, the mother wrote: “I know what a mother feels so I have tears of joy. I am so proud of this sensational news. Andrew and I are just the luckiest people ever to have two great sons in law.”
