Princess Charlotte arrived for her first day of school with her brother Prince George.
The little girl waved, smiled and shyly hid behind her mother who was holding her bag.
Wearing her uniform, the young princess and prince were joined by their parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as she started her school career.
Helen Haslem, the head of the lower school, was waiting to greet them and shook hands with Charlotte, who celebrated her fourth birtday on May 2.
The young princess was driven to school in South London by her dad in Land Rover Discovery. Charlotte, whose tuition fees are 2 percent lower than George’s as she is a second child at the private institution, arrived wearing what staff call a ‘transitional’ uniform.
Charlotte was taken to a side entrance while other students accompanied by their parents and guardians went in through the front.
As the four walked from their vehicle, Charlotte clung to her mom’s hand. They were greeted by the head of the lower school, who shook hands with George and Charlotte.
“First day – very excited,” William said to Ms. Haslem.
“How are you? Did you have a nice summer?” Kate, who carried Charlotte’s satchel, asked.
Kate and William took Charlotte to her classroom where she met her 20 classmates and their teacher. The new royal student will be known at school as Charlotte Cambridge, just as the young prince is George Cambridge.
The young princess, who has been at Willcocks Nursery since 2018, will start at Thomas’s by doing half days. Her older brother started at the school in 2017 and have settled down well.
One royal fan said: “Love how proud William and Catherine are looking at her!”
