This is an adorable moment Prince Charlotte refused to hand over the bouquet of flowers she received from a star-struck young fan to a royal aide during Christmas day at Sandringham.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 4-year-old daughter received a beautiful bunch of white roses from 6-year-old James Heather, who chose the flowers as they are his mother’s favorite.
It also seems little James made the right choice as the princess refused to give them over to a royal aide for safekeeping.
His mother, Nikita, told Mirror Online: “When they left the church, Kate came over and said, “are these for Charlotte?” and then James said “yes” and handed them over.
“Charlotte looked really shy and coy, but you could tell she was happy and then she said ‘thank you’.
“James was so excited, but I think he was quite star struck by her.”
In a video shared by Jade Garwood on Twitter, a royal aide leaned in to take the bouquet off the young princess but she shook her head and kept the flowers in her hand. She then continued to smile as she walked to greet other well-wishers next to her mother.
“What made it all even sweeter was I watched her as she walked off and other people were giving her flowers which were handed to her protection officer, but she just wouldn’t let go of James,” Nikita added.
“She kept them in her hand the whole time.”
One internet user commented: “She looks just like the Queen. How adorable.”
Another said: “Thank you. I hope next year they show the kids handing out gifts and helping others too.”
A third added: “Love her!! She’s fast becoming my favourite Royal.”
