The biographer of late Princess Diana spoke out to reveal how the relationship between Meghan Markle and the Royal could look like.
As writer Andrew Morton said in an interview with The Mirror, Princess Diana would likely be “taken aback” during her first meeting with the American actress.
Though the two never got the chance to meet, Morton believes that Diana would be “mesmerized” and “intimidated” by her daughter-in-law.
After their initial meeting, and after they got the chance to know each other better, however, the two would likely form a strong bond based on the similarities between them.
“She would find the energetic American mesmerizing and intimidating. Diana was desperate to be known for speeches, rather than fashions, and took lessons to learn how to deliver talks,” Morton says.
“She would have been taken aback on first meeting Meghan, a force of nature able to speak with passion and precision – and all without notes.”
The Royal biographer went on: “But as she got to know her and see the vulnerable side of a woman who suffered mental trauma during her first pregnancy – as did Diana – they would have bonded.”
In his interview, Morton also opened up about the rift between Prince William and Prince Harry as he insisted that Princess Diana would be “concerned” about the current situation revolving around her sons.
“She always saw Harry as the reliable wingman for William, for when he took on the lonely position of Sovereign. She may well have approached Charles to work out how to reconcile the two brothers,” Morton added.
Though the rift between the two brothers doesn’t appear to be getting any smaller, Harry and William will have the chance to reconcile as they unveil the statue in their mother’s honor on Thursday.
